OSM 5 is recommended for industrial use as a biocide in water stabilization programs for open cooling systems, splash pools, air conditioning systems, and process water storage tanks.
It has a broad spectrum of action and is used to control the growth of bacteria, fungi, protozoa and algae, which cause biofouling and reduce the efficiency of industrial cooling systems.
OSM 5 is a concentrated liquid biocide based on aldehydes with excellent microbiocidal, fungicidal and algaecidal properties.
The active components of the product disrupt the diffusion of nutrients through the cell membrane and nucleus and lead to their destruction and cationic substance. It has biodispersing properties, destroys and removes biofilm. Effective for controlling anaerobic bacteria. The product is an effective corrosion inhibitor, cleans and passivates metal surfaces.
OSM 5 is a stable, non-volatile, non-foaming biocide with a prolonged effect. OSM 5 is non-corrosive, does not react with metals, rubber and other materials, and works in both alkaline and acidic environments. OSM 5 is compatible with all inhibitors and is recommended for treatment of water with a high content of suspended solids.
The OSM 5 product is dosed using a metering pump by introducing periodic shock doses. Typical dosage is 15 – 50 g/m3 based on the total volume of water in the system.
The optimal dosing regimen of OSM 5 is selected for each system individually. To prevent the development of addiction, it is recommended to combine with biocides of another class of action. Dosage control is carried out using special methods of bacteriological testing (total microbial count, etc.), visual inspection methods.
