SD 8 is recommended for use as a non-oxidizing biocide in water stabilization programs for open and closed cooling systems, splash pools, air conditioning systems, process water storage tanks, swimming pools.
It has a broad spectrum of action and is used to control the growth of bacteria, fungi, protozoa and algae, which cause biofouling and reduce the efficiency of industrial cooling systems.
Product SD 8 is a concentrated liquid biocide based on guanidine compounds with excellent microbiocidal, fungicidal and algaecidal properties.
The active components of the product destroy hydrogen bonds between protein amino acids, disrupt the permeability of the biocell membrane, and cationic substance. It has biodispersing properties, destroys and removes biofilm.
Effective for controlling anaerobic bacteria. SD 8 is a stable, non-volatile, non-foaming biocide with a prolonged effect. SD 8 is non-corrosive, does not react with metals, rubber and other materials. The product works in both alkaline and acidic environments. SD 8 is compatible with all cooling system inhibitors.
SD 8 is dosed using a metering pump by means of periodic shock doses. Typical dosage is 5 – 25 g/m3 based on the total volume of water in the system.
The optimal dosing regimen for SD 8 is selected for each system individually. Dosage control is carried out using special bacteriological testing methods (counting the total microbial count of the TMC) and visual inspection methods.
