  • OSM 412 is a concentrated liquid inhibitor based on inorganic and organic phosphonocarboxylates, corrosion inhibitors and dispersants with stable anti-corrosion properties against steel and copper alloys.
  • The anti-scaling effect of OSM 412 is based on the mechanism of threshold inhibition, modification of the surface of inorganic salt crystals, which stops the growth of crystals and destroys their structure.

Purpose

OSM 412 is recommended for industrial use as an anti-scale and anti-corrosion water treatment program for open cooling systems.

It is especially suitable for large circulating cooling systems with different construction materials and a wide range of speeds and temperatures. The highest efficiency of the product is in the pH range of 7.5-9.0, with a Langevin index of up to +3 and a temperature of up to 800 °C.

It acts as a cathodic corrosion inhibitor with rapid formation of a thin passivation film on the entire metal surface. The anti-corrosion effect of OSM 412 is based on the mechanism of threshold inhibition, modification of the surface of inorganic salt crystals, which stops the growth of crystals and destroys their structure.

Dispersion properties are manifested in a change in the charge of particles and a decrease in their ability to agglomerate (stick together). This results in a high solubility of mineral compounds, even in highly contaminated recycled water.

Dosing recommendations

The dosage of the OSM 412 inhibitor depends on the quality of the source water and the performance of the recirculating cooling system. The product is dosed using a dosing pump in proportion to the amount of additional water.

The working concentration is 10 – 50 g/m3 in the recycled water and is adjusted depending on the quality indicators, evaporation coefficient and stability indices. At the initial stage of dosing, it is recommended to introduce a dose for saturation and passivation of the system with the product (30 – 100 g/m3). Treatment control is carried out by the orthophosphate residue in the system at the level of 1.0 – 5.0 mg/L RO4.
