OSM 408 is an inhibitor used as an anti-scale and anti-corrosion water treatment program for cooling systems.
OSM 408 is recommended for open circulation cooling and air conditioning systems. The product is most effective in the pH range from 7.5 to 8.9.

OSM 408 is a liquid product based on phosphonates, polyphosphates and dispersants with anti-corrosion properties for steel alloys.
OSM 408 is an effective inhibitor of CaCO₃, CaSO₃, BaSO₃ deposits, as well as Fe oxides, whose action is based on several mechanisms of deposit inhibition (complexation, dispersion, etc.). The product also acts as a corrosion inhibitor, forming a strong protective film over the entire metal surface and thus inhibiting electrochemical corrosion processes. OSM 408 is resistant to temperature and hydrolytic decomposition. It is not recommended for use with chlorine or bromine-based biocides.

OSM 408 is dosed in concentrated form or diluted with soft water using a dosing pump in proportion to the amount of additional water.
At the initial stage of dosing, it is necessary to introduce a dose to saturate and passivate the system with the product (50-100 g/m3). If the system has been previously contaminated with biological deposits, biological cleaning of the system is mandatory before the initial dose of OSM 408 inhibitor is administered.
