OSM 614 is a concentrated product based on highly effective synthetic polymers. It is used to prevent the formation of mineral deposits on reverse osmosis membranes in hard water plants.
All components of the product are food-grade, so OSM 614 can be used in equipment that produces drinking water.

One of the main causes of membrane contamination is the formation of mineral deposits on their surface.
Concentration of salts and changes in pH lead to the conversion of soluble bicarbonates to carbonates, which, together with sulfates (CaSO₄↩, MgSO₄↩, BaSO₄↩, SrSO₄↩), Ca₃(PO₄↩)₂↩ phosphates, CaF₂↩ fluorides, as well as iron, manganese, aluminum and silicates with low solubility, form a solid mineral precipitate. Precipitates clog membrane pores, increase pressure drop and reduce plant performance, which can lead to membrane deformation and rupture.
OSM 614 is designed to stabilize and disperse salts in the water entering the reverse osmosis equipment. The scale prevention mechanism is formed by the action of effective dispersant polymers by blocking crystallization centers and highly efficient dispersion.

OSM 614 is continuously fed into the water entering the reverse osmosis system after the high-pressure pump. Proportional dosing is mandatory to ensure maximum effect and economy. The dosage of the antiscalant is calculated according to the water analysis.
